This is a gorgeous video, but it's incredibly sad. If you're not in the mood for seeing something sad, don't watch the video...but at least listen to the song. It is hauntingly beautiful.
Scala & Kolacny Brothers - Use Somebody (Kings of Leon cover)
The first time I heard Kings of Leon, I didn't really like them. I think a big part of that was his voice, like you mentioned. But I heard "Use Somebody" and "Sex On Fire" on the radio or something, and they're both catchy, melodic songs, and so I accepted his voice on those songs. The melody overcame my judgment.
So when you pair the melody of "Use Somebody" with the actually really good voices of Scala...amazing. Their harmonies give me chills.
Oh, but you know who does really like Kings of Leon? Nationals players. One game I went to it seemed like every other player picked "Use Somebody" or "Sex on Fire" as their batting music. This happened so many times: "Next up to bat, [player's name]...'I've been roaming around...'"
Yeah, that song is pretty. I always liked that tune, but the Kings of Leon guy's voice is too grungy for me. This was much better. But too sad.
