Just So You Know

I have this weird problem. Sometimes when I'm typing an e-mail or chatting online, I type the wrong gender-specific pronoun. For instance, I intend to write: "My mom is great. She is so hilarious." But I end up writing "My mom is great. He is so hilarious." And it's not just a typo -- it's not like my finger slipped and the "s" just wasn't entered. I actually typed "he". It also happens with "him" and "her". What's weird is that when I'm saying in my head what I'm about to type, I say the correct gender pronoun...but my fingers seem to do their own thing and type the opposite gender pronoun from what I was thinking. Now this doesn't always happen, but it happens more often than I would like. It is quite unusual.

I usually catch when I do this and I fix my error right away. However, today I was chatting with Eagan online and we were talking about a friend of ours (who is a female). I said, "Have you heard from him?" Eagan replied, "[Friend's name] is a she. Haha." And then I proceeded to tell Eagan what I mentioned in the above paragraph. I then said to Eagan, "This is probably something to write down in my file so that when they discover my brain tumor, you can reference this..."
Eagan said, "Well, you could just think what I think: that I am actually mentally handicapped and that people are just nice to me. lol."
To which I replied, "You think that? Because if so, then you're actually pretty smart. Because you're right!"
Eagan: "Haha. Ouch."

So I might have a brain tumor that causes me to type the opposite gender pronoun, but I can still deliver zingers!
