Objects: Boston Impressions

I stumbled upon a copy of Boston Impressions at a sidewalk sale for a secondhand bookstore. The book caught my eye because I loved the woodcut illustration on the cover (even though the paper cover on the book was ripped). This book from 1970 is essentially a love letter to Boston. The text -- which elaborates on the city, its culture, and its people -- is done by Sinclair Hitchings and the woodcuts are done by Naoka Matsubara. The text is beautifully written, detail-filled, and informative. But, ultimately, my favorite part of the book is the artwork. I'm a huge fan of woodcuts, and Matsubara does an amazing job.
